| dc.description.abstract | Este estudo teve como objetivo principal investigar a trajetória do psychobilly em Curitiba por meio da análise do fanzine "O Monstro”, que circulou no circuito underground da cidade entre 1997 e 1999, totalizando oito edições. O estudo destaca a relevância do fanzine na promoção de bandas locais e internacionais, bem como na disseminação do subgênero entre os entusiastas. Inicialmente, aborda-se o histórico do psychobilly mundial e sua inserção no Brasil, seguido por uma discussão sobre o papel da imprensa alternativa no contexto nacional, aborda ainda o fenômeno dos fanzines punks e de música das décadas de 1980 e 1990. A pesquisa inclui uma análise crítica das edições do fanzine, avaliação das críticas musicais presentes nas publicações e um panorama da cena psychobilly após o encerramento do periódico. Entrevistas com protagonistas da cena local, responsáveis pela produção e colaboração do fanzine, além de idealizadores de festivais do referido subgênero, complementam o estudo, evidenciando o impacto da circulação de veículos alternativos de comunicação como os fanzines na disseminação de subgêneros do rock. A metodologia utilizada compreende análise exploratória de fontes primárias, resumos, avaliações críticas de textos e relatos orais. O trabalho ressalta a importância de documentos não convencionais na reconstrução das trajetórias de cenas musicais marginalizadas sob a ótica de um fanzine. | |
| dc.description.resumo | The main objective of this study was to investigate the trajectory of psychobilly in Curitiba through an analysis of the fanzine “O Monstro,” which circulated in the city's underground scene between 1997 and 1999, totaling eight editions. The study highlights the relevance of the fanzine in promoting local and international bands, as well as in disseminating the subgenre among enthusiasts. Initially, it addresses the history of psychobilly worldwide and its insertion in Brazil, followed by a discussion on the role of the alternative press in the national context, and also addresses the phenomenon of punk and music fanzines in the 1980s and 1990s. The research includes a critical analysis of the fanzine's editions, an evaluation of the music reviews featured in the publications, and an overview of the psychobilly scene after the magazine ceased publication. Interviews with protagonists of the local scene, those responsible for the production and collaboration of the fanzine, as well as the creators of festivals of the aforementioned subgenre, complement the study, highlighting the impact of the circulation of alternative communication vehicles such as fanzines in the dissemination of rock subgenres. The methodology used comprises exploratory analysis of primary sources, summaries, and critical evaluations of texts and oral accounts. The work highlights the importance of unconventional documents in reconstructing the trajectories of marginalized music scenes from the perspective of a fanzine. | |
