Resumo
Esta dissertação investiga a trajetória e a produção artística de Gilda Elizabeth Belczak, situando sua obra no contexto das transformações das artes visuais em Curitiba nas décadas de 1950 e 1960. O problema de pesquisa consiste em compreender de que modo sua poética dialoga com o processo de consolidação do modernismo e com as tensões entre tradição acadêmica e renovação estética em Curitiba. O objetivo central é analisar sua formação, atuação e legado, destacando suas contribuições para a arte moderna em Curitiba. A metodologia articula abordagem histórico-cultural, análise formal e iconográfica de obras, além de pesquisa documental em acervos públicos e familiares, dialogando com outros pesquisadores e artistas que foram contemporâneos à artista. Conclui-se que, apesar de sua morte precoce, Gilda Belczak desempenhou um papel significativo e reconhecido no processo de renovação artística curitibana, consolidando um legado que articula arte e educação.
Abstract
This dissertation investigates the trajectory and artistic production of Gilda Elizabeth Belczak, situating her work within the context of the transformations in the visual arts in Curitiba during the 1950s and 1960s. The research problem consists of understanding how her poetics dialogues with the consolidation of modernism and with the tensions between academic tradition and aesthetic renewal in Curitiba. The central objective is to analyze her training, activities, and legacy, highlighting her contributions to modern art in Curitiba. The methodology articulates a historical-cultural approach, formal and iconographic analysis of works, as well as documentary research in public and family archives, engaging with other researchers and artists who were contemporaries of the artist. The study concludes that, despite her premature death, Gilda Belczak played a significant and recognized role in the process of artistic renewal in Curitiba, consolidating a legacy that articulates art and education.
