dc.description.abstractO presente estudo teve como escopo geral a produção de trabalhos artísticos fundamentados nos conceitos elaborados pela autora Donna Haraway (1985; 2007), tais como ciborgue, espécies companheiras e simbiontes, entendidos como forma de refletir sobre a indissociabilidade entre naturezas e culturas. Adotando uma metodologia baseada na análise de estudos teóricos e da produção de arte e, também, na própria experimentação e poética artística, foram construídos objetos tendo como suporte terrários em potes de vidro, criando ecossistemas próprios em regimes simpoiéticos. Observa-se que esses sistemas funcionam tal como os ecossistemas do planeta terra com trocas mútuas entre atmosfera, geosfera, hidrosfera e biosfera, regulados pela própria vida em seu interior, como se advoga na teoria de Gaia conforme James Lovelock (1979) e Lynn Margulis (1974). Aos terrários foram acopladas lâmpadas com luzes artificiais, que fornecem energia aos sistemas reprodutivos de seus interiores, tornando estes sistemas híbridos entre organismo e máquina, corpo e tecnologia, humano e não-humano, realidade e ficção, conforme o diálogo com a figura do ciborgue. Os eventos climáticos contidos nesses objetos, suas transformações internas e a possível extinção iminente do conteúdo vivo do seu interior procuram experimentar poeticamente e como fabulação especulativa, as crises do Antropoceno, tais como a poluição ambiental, a 6ª extinção em massa de espécies e as mudanças climáticas de causa antrópica, bem como a nossa (des)conexão com a vida na terra e a intensiva utilização dos dispositivos tecnológicos.
dc.description.resumoThe present study has as its general scope the production of artistic works grounded in concepts developed by Donna Haraway (1985; 2007), such as the cyborg, companion species, and symbionts, understood as ways of reflecting on the inseparability of nature and culture. Adopting a methodology based on the analysis of theoretical studies combined with artistic experimentation and poetics, objects were created using terrariums in glass containers as their support, forming self-contained ecosystems operating under sympoietic regimes. It is observed that these systems function in a manner analogous to the ecosystems of planet Earth, through mutual exchanges among the atmosphere, geosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere, regulated by life itself within their interiors, as proposed by the Gaia theory formulated by James Lovelock (1979) and Lynn Margulis (1974). The terrariums are fitted with lamps emitting artificial light, which provide energy to the reproductive systems within them, rendering these systems hybrid entities between organism and machine, body and technology, human and non-human, reality and fiction, in dialogue with the figure of the cyborg. The climatic events contained within these objects, their internal transformations, and the possible imminent extinction of the living content they house seek to poetically experiment with the crises of the Anthropocene, such as environmental pollution, the sixth mass extinction of species, and anthropogenic climate change, as well as our (dis)connection from life on Earth and the intensive use of technological devices.
